Another Eden Begins has Aldo plus a roster of 19 playable characters as listed on the official site — and most of them are not given to you by the story. Reviews count roughly 20 characters in total, with only about five or six joining through the main story; the rest are recruited through side content, and DLC packs add more on top (review source, single source).
Battles use a four-character party — the official screenshots show four combat slots with individual skill cooldowns.

How recruitment actually works
- Main story: only around 5-6 characters join automatically (RPGFan review, single source).
- Everyone else: recruited via Ally Quests — three-part mini story arcs that reveal each character's background (RPG Site's review coverage, single source).
- Per-character depth: each recruited character carries roughly five personal quests afterwards; a reviewer counted over 100 quests if you want every arc (RPGFan, single source).
- DLC packs add more on top of the base roster: Vol. 1 (Thillelille & Tiramisu) and Vol. 2 (Elseal & Benedict) at $9.99 each — see DLC (official store listings).
Elements and weapon basics
The element system the community videos centre on is fire, water, earth and wind — breaking an enemy makes it weak to one element (see the beginner guide). From the same sources: Aldo is a fire sword user, Yuna attacks at range with piercing bow damage plus water, and Gariyu is a fire magician (video guides, single source for each).

- Is Another Eden Begins the same as Another Eden?
- No. Begins is the premium, buy-once rebuild of the mobile game's first story arc — no gacha, fully voiced main story, plus new NG+ endings the mobile version does not have. The full breakdown is on the comparison page.
- Who is the best starting character?
- Aldo — video review coverage calls him the most powerful character in the game: fire sword attacks, able to apply fire break himself, with an X Slash that clears groups of random encounters.
